About SCS Health
Scott C. Smith is the founder of SCS Health. He has been working in the natural health profession since the year 2000 and has had a lifelong passion for all things natural. He is a qualified and chartered naturopath and medical herbalist.
Scott discovered natural therapies through his own personal journey of chronic illness and this has helped shape his path and led him to where he is today. Through the journey of rediscovering health, he realised the limitations of Orthodox medicine. He also realised that many answers to true health had to be sought outside of what hospitals and medications had to offer.
This discovery led him to pursue a career in the natural health profession. After graduating as 'top clinical student' in his year he worked as a Consultant Naturopath for a well known and respected health wholesaler and distributor. He also continued to maintain a busy part-time clinic and was appointed President of the South Pacific Association of Natural Therapists, the oldest established professional association of naturopaths in New Zealand.
Through these experiences he saw, firsthand, the benefits naturopathy could bring to peoples lives. This reinforced his strong belief in the body's ability to heal itself, if it was given the opportunity to restore balance.
This belief and his own search for optimal health led him to the BodyTalk system, of which he is now a keen proponent. Once again, he has seen - firsthand - the benefits this amazing new system has brought to his own health.
He has now developed a blend of the two healing modalities. BodyTalk, combined with naturopathy, is used in the one clinic - SCS Health - to give the client the benefits of both physical and energy medicine.
SCS Health offers a professionally run and service oriented clinic that combines the best of both modalities for its clients. Scott endeavours to constantly improve and evolve his skills and knowledge. He is frequently doing research and undertaking new courses, ensuring that what he offers his clients is cutting edge and state-of-the-art.
